People of Pauwels Consulting - Tugba & Zuleyha

Good morning ladies. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Tugba: Sure! We are two young graduates from ULB. We’ve known each other for a long time (since secondary school) and we have a very good relationship.

Zuleyha: After our studies, we decided to apply for a job we would love. By chance, we started at the same company at the same time! An amazing coincidence! (Laughs)

That’s an amazing and wonderful coincidence indeed! Tugba and Zuleyha, can you tell us a bit more about your background?

Tugba: I graduated from Solvay Brussels School. I was enrolled in the Economics and Management program and I have a Master in Management Sciences.

Zuleyha: I studied Political Sciences and I graduated with a Master in International Relations.

Tugba: We have a lot in common because we come from the same region and we share the same culture. We both love to cook all kinds of foods: pastries, Turkish dishes etc. We also love to travel, discover new cultures and meet new people.

How exactly did you get in touch with Pauwels Consulting?

Tugba: We discovered Pauwels Consulting via Linkedin. We were looking for a job that required social and psychological skills and frequent contacts with other people. We soon realized that the position of recruitment consultant was a perfect match for us.

What was your first impression of Pauwels Consulting?

Zuleyha: There were two things that struck me immediately: the human aspect and the clear vision of the company. At Pauwels Consulting you are not some random person but an important part of a great team. The company pays a lot of attention to the quality of its work, the relationship with its clients and the growth of its consultants.

Did your first impression match the reality of everyday business at Pauwels Consulting?

Tugba: Absolutely! Pauwels Consulting cares about human values and mutual respect. This results in a friendly work atmosphere and a great team spirit. This is obviously beneficial for the performance of the company. I find my job very fulfilling.

That’s wonderful to hear. What do you like best about your work?

Zuleyha: As a recruitment consultant, I love helping companies find suitable staff. The diversity of my job and the interactions with other people and organizations are very inspiring. I really enjoy my interviews with people of different background and ages.

Tugba: It is always a challenge to find the right person for a project in a limited amount of time, but it is very rewarding if you can make a good match between an employer and a candidate. My job is different every day and it is always very rewarding.

Would you recommend Pauwels Consulting to your friends and if so, why (not)?

Tugba: Absolutely! There are many things I love about my job. I love the work environment and I love the camaraderie with co-workers. Pauwels consulting offers training and career advancement opportunities so I am very motivated to do my very best every day.

Zuleyha: I particularly like the fact that Pauwels Consulting cares about the happiness and well-being of all its employees. Trust in the workplace sets the stage for open and honest communication, and it allows us to feel secure in our job. Pauwels Consulting cares about our needs. This results in happy and engaged staff.

Where do you want to be in 3 years?

Tugba: First and foremost, I want to help Pauwels Consulting grow by excelling in the position I applied for, but in the future I would also like to take on more responsibilities. One step at a time.

Zuleyha: The same goes for me. I want to play a meaningful role in the company. I’d like to take on a management position at some point because I think I would enjoy the responsibilities and challenges that come with a leadership position.

Do you have any personal or professional goals for the near or distant future?

Zuleyha: When I started at Pauwels Consulting, my first objective was to gain a good understanding of and practical experience in the recruitment sector. I think that mission is accomplished now. Luckily Pauwels Consulting offers new challenges all the time.

Tugba: In the near future I would like to work with different clients and different profiles, but we will see what the distant future brings.

Zuleyha: I always wanted a good work-life balance, and it is great that I am in a position now where I can make a difference at work and where I can still enjoy family life after work.

Tugba: On a more personal level, we would both also like to participate in humanitarian aid organizations in order to help families in the developing world to break the cycle of poverty and ill-health.

I myself, for example, am affiliated to the Children’s Cancer Foundation (KAÇUV) in Turkey. The aim of this foundation is to assist hospitals so they can provide vital support for clinical care and clinical trials, build programs for clinical research on childhood cancer and provide resources for children undergoing treatment for cancer and their families. I would like to do as much as I can to offer help, now and in the future.

Do you have any wisdom, quotes, life lessons you wish to share with our readers?

Tugba:

“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.”
