About techniques to cope with positive feelings, setbacks and disappointments

“The purpose of our life is to be happy.” – Dalai Lama

Being happy sounds fluffy to you? It won’t if you know that the World Economic Forum stated that “happier workers do a better job”

As being a great place to work we believe that making people aware, investing and making them act upon their road to happiness is key in the organizations’ road towards achieving results and success (and not vice versa). We believe that making people aware of this dependence is both a responsibility of the organization and the individual/employee.

During this webinar, ORMIT’s Head of Talent Development Bert Bleyen will focus on 1 element, Coping Skills: happiness is not only about positive feelings and joy and laughter, but also about dealing with setbacks and disappointments in your life.

Whether you’ve been dumped by your date or you’ve had a rough day at the office, having healthy coping skills can be key to getting through tough times. During quarantine, people feel stressed, confused, angry … Now more than ever, it can feel like a challenge to “be/feel happy”.

This session is all about Lean Integrated Project Delivery

In traditional Lump Sum Projects, one starts with an engineering study. This study results in a binder of specifications sometimes also called User Requirement Specifications. The project-owner will consult most of the time 3 general constructors and the one with the lowest bid, most of the time will be appointed to carry out and lead the construction. These type of contracts holds risks for the owner and also for the general constructor. When unforeseen circumstances pop up these risks and discussions often ends in projects surpassing the foreseen due date and penalties to pay by the general constructor or even worse these discussions end up in court.

In LeanIPD, all the partners come together already from the design phase to discuss how they will work together and handle unforeseen issues. They also put a part of their profit at risk. In return, they can get an extra bonus if they deliver on time or earlier.

It’s a win-win for the owner who pays less than estimated and the general constructor and other partners get more profit than they initially had foreseen.

Last Planner System, Push-pull-flow, Big-Room, Risk-management, BIM,… are techniques that are used in LeanIPD.

Oosterweel is a construction project that is managed following the LeanIPD principles.

This session will be delivered from an owner and also a Big-Room-Facilitator’s point of view who participated in the first LeanIPD project at P&G Brussels Innovation Center.

Target audience: project managers, architects, engineers, purchasing managers, cost-controllers,  or others who are interested in Lean IPD.

Learn to be more mindful about stress, worries and fears

“?? ??? ??????? ??? ?? ?????? ??? ?????? ?? ??? ??????? ?????? ?? ?????? ???????? ???? ?? ??? ?? ????.” (Shantideva)

We all know stress is no good. We all know worrying doesn’t solve anything. In this hectic and demanding world, many people fall victim to stress, worry, and fear as a result of fear.

The thing is, stress, worry and fear don’t always have to be bad things, they can serve as necessary alarm bells, protection or the fuel we need to propel us forward, to make the changes we need.

In this session we’ll learn to be more mindful about the stress, worries and fears we hold and we’ll explore practical and grounded ways to reduce our stress and become more aware of ourselves.

We’ll get inspired with quotes, poetry and videos. We’ll journal and answer honest questions. You’ll receive practical tools to help you with stress reduction (breathwork, meditation techniques, soft movement exercises)

I look forward to sharing this honest, powerful, stress-free webinar with you 🙂

See you soon!

Biography

Namasté ? My name is Delphine Delchambre, born and raised in Belgium, but a world citizen at heart (aren’t we all?!). Yoga has been a big part of my life for the past 6 years, I dare say, it has become my life. Yoga is more than a series of postures we practice and try to move into and sustain, it’s a way of moving, breathing and thinking, a way of life. Yoga is raising your (self)awareness and diving deeper into a broader consciousness. When I’m not doing yoga, I travel the world with my personal project “Wayra Freedom Project”, write, dance, create, get involved in NGOs all around the world… In short: I love to express and share my heart with the world.

Implement Psychological Safety in your teams with this webinar

If an organization really wants to do well in a world where innovation can make a difference, it’s not enough to have smart, motivated people on your team. We have to make sure that those talented people can use their knowledge at critical moments. We have to trust each other, dare to take risks, dare to face failure, share mistakes, give feedback and learn from them. Psychological safety is at the heart of this.

In a psychologically safe team we are not hindered by the fear of being rejected, of making mistakes, of embracing feedback and trusting each other, but learning and implementing ‘on the go’.

The secret ingredient of strong teams? Common ground. When we spend time making agreements about how we work together, how we make mistakes and what everyone needs to do best in the team, we create a framework to make this ‘common ground’ explicit, making ‘Fail Fast Forward’ the new standard.

Some topics that will be discussed:

  • How do you turn a group of people into a team?
  • Build a common ground
  • What does the team purpose look like?
  • How are we going to achieve our goals?
  • What team standards do we set?
  • Fail fast… What?! What does science say about psychological safety?
  • To what extent do we take individual preferences into account? An introduction to the SCARF model.
