Senior SCADA Software Validation & Test Engineer – Safety-Critical Systems

Our client, a prominent player in the transport infrastructure sector, is seeking an expert to oversee the validation, verification, and quality control of SCADA systems. This role is essential for ensuring the safety and reliability of operational applications within a highly regulated environment.

• Design comprehensive test strategies, plans, and scripts based on functional specifications and risk analyses in compliance with SIL and ISO 27001 standards.
• Execute manual and automated functional and non-functional tests, including integration, system, regression, and security testing within distributed SCADA environments.
• Coordinate defect management by documenting, analyzing, and prioritizing issues in collaboration with internal development teams and external suppliers.
• Lead the support for FAT, SAT, and UAT phases while guiding end-users and operators through commissioning activities.
• Manage production incident follow-up and conduct root-cause analyses to validate corrective measures in a safety-critical context.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality processes through test automation and enhanced monitoring of operational systems.

• You have 10+ years of experience in software testing and validation within SCADA and safety-critical operational environments.
• You possess 10+ years of expertise in test design, strategy development, and planning for complex industrial systems.
• You bring 10+ years of experience in defect management, reporting, and production incident follow-up.
• You have 10+ years of experience in the integration and testing of peripheral applications and field equipment.
• You possess 5+ years of experience working with SIL safety standards and ISO 27001 information security frameworks.
• You bring 5+ years of experience with OPC-UA industrial communication and supporting FAT, SAT, and UAT phases.
• You have 5+ years of experience in test automation and maintaining technical documentation.
• You're analytical, proactive, and willing to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
• You are fluent in French and Dutch with a C2 level and possess a C1 level in English.
