Python Developer – FastAPI & AsyncIO

Our client, a leading organization in the energy sector, is seeking a developer to join their internal monitoring platform team. This role focuses on architecting and maintaining resilient software solutions that monitor application health and coordinate critical operational notifications for large-scale energy infrastructure.

• Architect and optimize Python-based software applications for core business activities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical specifications and gather requirements.
• Implement best practices for code quality, testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Mentor team members through code reviews and technical leadership.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues within the monitoring and alerting engines.
• Ensure the security, scalability, and maintainability of event-driven solutions.

• 6+ years of experience in software development.
• 3+ years of expertise in backend development with Python, FastAPI, and Pydantic.
• You possess strong experience with AsyncIO.
• You have a solid background in data and integration using SQL, specifically MSSQL or PostgreSQL.
• You bring experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ.
• You possess deep knowledge of service-based architectures and event-driven systems.
• You have a strong understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• You're experienced in implementing IT security requirements within critical infrastructure environments.
• You bring experience working in Agile environments and have a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
• You are fluent in English with a good level of Dutch and/or French.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with Azure cloud services.
• Knowledge of NoSQL solutions and test automation frameworks like Selenium.
• Familiarity with containerization using Docker and CI/CD deployment pipelines.
• Experience with legacy code refactoring initiatives.
• Proficiency in German.

• Work regime: Full-time.
• Location: Brussels.
• Working model: Hybrid with 2 days onsite per week.
• Contract: open to both permanent employees and freelancers.
