Senior Lead Java Developer – Spring Boot & Camunda

Our client, a leading organization in the public sector, is seeking a Senior Lead Java Developer to spearhead the development of a modular software suite focused on environmental impact assessment. The project involves building a comprehensive dossier application and quality control system using modern process orchestration platforms.

• Lead and coach a team of developers to ensure high-quality software delivery and professional growth.
• Execute complex programming assignments including coding, testing, and debugging with high proficiency.
• Oversee the design and implementation of a modular architecture using the Camunda process orchestration platform.
• Develop robust backend services and API integrations using Java and Spring Boot.
• Guide the Agile development process, taking a lead role in sprint planning and execution.
• Collaborate on the development of reporting and complaint modules within a high-impact public service environment.

• You have 8+ years of expert experience in backend development using Java and Spring Boot.
• You possess 8+ years of experience designing and implementing complex API integrations.
• You bring 5+ years of experience in frontend development with React and JavaScript.
• You have 5+ years of experience working with PostgreSQL databases.
• You possess demonstrated experience in leading development teams and coaching technical profiles.
• You have extensive experience in Agile development methodologies and taking a leadership role in that context.
• You bring proven experience working within the public sector or the waste management industry.
• You have a strong track record in executing software engineering tasks including coding, testing, and debugging.
• You are fluent in Dutch with a C2 level.

Nice to Haves

• Experience working within the Flemish Government.
• Familiarity with Atlassian Tools for project tracking and collaboration.
