Business Data Analyst – Power BI & SQL

Our client, a leading organization in the energy sector, is looking for a Business Data Analyst to act as a functional bridge between business operations and data teams. The role focuses on translating complex business requirements into actionable insights, intuitive visualizations, and strategic recommendations to support data-driven decision-making.

• Analyze business processes and challenges within the domains of finance, logistics, and grid operations.
• Gather, analyze, and challenge user requirements to define high-value data solutions.
• Develop and evolve business-oriented reports and dashboards for various departments.
• Design clear and intuitive user-oriented visualizations using data storytelling and information design principles.
• Support users in interpreting results and adopting new analytical solutions.
• Contribute to data office initiatives regarding data governance, data quality, and data products.
• Promote and diffuse a data-driven culture throughout the organization.

• 3+ years of experience as a BI Consultant or Business Data Analyst.
• You bring significant experience in the energy sector to quickly understand industry-specific challenges.
• You possess strong proficiency in reporting tools, specifically Microsoft Power BI and SAS Visual Analytics.
• You have advanced knowledge of SQL for data analysis and manipulation.
• You bring experience working within Data Warehouse or Data Platform environments.
• You have a proven track record in end-to-end dashboard development, from requirement gathering to production.
• You possess a solid understanding of data modeling, integration, and information design principles.
• You're familiar with modern data concepts such as Data Products, Data Mesh, and Generative AI.
• You have strong analytical skills and the ability to present complex insights to business stakeholders.
• You are fluent in French or Dutch with a passive knowledge of the second national language.

Nice to Haves

• Official Microsoft Power BI certification.
• Understanding of Data Governance, Data Quality, and metadata management principles.
• Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant field.
