Data Analyst – Energy Market Simulations & Visualization

Our client, a major European energy transmission system operator, is looking for a Data Analyst to support security of supply studies and market analysis. The project focuses on enhancing data transparency and developing impactful visualizations for complex energy simulation outputs.

• Improve data management processes by establishing robust data warehouses and automated data pipelines.
• Analyze large datasets derived from economic dispatch simulations to identify key trends and inconsistencies.
• Benchmark internal and external visualization platforms to ensure high-quality data publication standards.
• Create interactive dashboards and user-friendly interfaces to communicate simulation outputs to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with management to present and iterate upon visuals for strategic decision-making.
• Develop and maintain scripts to perform data engineering and interface between various simulation tools.

• You have 3+ years of experience with Python for data mining, processing, and tool development.
• You bring 3+ years of experience in data visualization and dashboard creation using PowerBI.
• You possess experience in data engineering, specifically in building data warehouses and data pipelines.
• You're analytical and innovative with a proactive approach to solving complex data challenges.
• You have the ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team.
• You are fluent in English with a good level of Dutch and/or French.

Nice to Haves

• Knowledge of React.js for developing specialized data visualizations.
• Familiarity with economic dispatch tools such as ANTARES or similar energy market solvers.
• Basic understanding of energy systems and electricity sector dynamics.
