System Engineer – Windows & Citrix Server Environments

Our client, a major player in the European energy sector, is seeking a dedicated professional to manage their server infrastructure. This role focuses on the operational stability and reliability of both Windows and Citrix environments within a collaborative team of specialists.

• Provide second-level support for Windows and Citrix server environments by resolving escalated helpdesk cases.
• Perform detailed investigations and troubleshooting for environment-specific or user-related issues.
• Manage highly available Citrix infrastructure including Delivery Controllers, StoreFront, and NetScaler.
• Administer Windows Server environments ranging from versions 2016 to 2025.
• Maintain technical documentation and refine operational processes to ensure service continuity.
• Collaborate within a team of six to ensure the reliability of the digital infrastructure.
• Apply networking and security principles to safeguard the server landscape.

• 3+ years of experience in Windows Server administration (2016 through 2025).
• 3+ years of experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, StoreFront, Director, Studio, and Profile Management.
• Proven experience managing NetScaler (on-premises).
• Knowledge of networking and security principles.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and personal vehicle.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently under strict deadlines.
• Proactive team player with a customer-minded approach.
• You are fluent in English with native-level proficiency in either Dutch or French.

Nice to Haves

• Certifications such as CCA-V or CCA-AppDS.
• Experience with Active Directory, MS Exchange, SCOM, SCCM, or VMWare vSphere ESX.
• Knowledge of PowerShell scripting, Netapp storage, or PRTG monitoring.
• Experience with security solutions like Trend Micro Deep Security, Scanmail, or TMCM.
• Working knowledge of German.

• Working model: Hybrid (2-3 days per week onsite in Brussels; occasional travel to Berlin up to 2 days per month).
