Data Engineer – Azure & Databricks

Our client, a prominent organization in the energy sector, is building a sophisticated data and information platform within a cloud environment. The project involves developing a specialized orchestration tool to optimize customer operations through real-time data processing and analytics. This role focuses on the end-to-end development of data products and application components to support complex operational use cases.

• Implement real-time data processing and streaming solutions to support platform integration.
• Design and build data products according to established architectural and design principles.
• Facilitate data accessibility through API-based integration and event processing for various applications.
• Develop core application components including a custom rule engine for operational orchestration.
• Maintain high-quality standards in data modeling and processing within a domain-based structure.

• 5+ years experience in data processing, data modeling, and BI consultancy.
• You possess extensive knowledge of MS Azure and Databricks.
• You bring proficiency in Python, PySpark, and SQL scripting.
• You have a solid understanding of ETL and data management practices.
• You are fluent in Dutch at a C2 level.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with Kafka, API Management, and event processing.
• Knowledge of Data Vault modeling and requirements analysis.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Key Vault, Azure DevOps, and Azure Data Lake.
• Experience with Power BI and reporting tools.
• Possession of a Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional certificate.
• Experience in the Belgian energy sector.
• Working knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
