Senior Solution Engineer – Java Cloud & Agile Delivery

Our client, a federal public organization, is seeking a Senior Solution Engineer to drive an ambitious digital transformation program. The role combines deep technical expertise in cloud engineering with hands-on delivery leadership to modernize essential administrative systems through 2028.

• Design and implement robust, secure software solutions using cloud-native technologies and microservices.
• Lead cross-functional teams through all sprint events including planning, refinements, and retrospectives.
• Develop medium-to-long-term release calendars while managing complex external dependencies.
• Coordinate the hands-on design and definition of high-performance APIs and event-driven systems.
• Guide the team in adopting modern software practices and maintaining application quality in production.
• Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Propose alternative architectural solutions and recommendations based on the project context.

• You have 8+ years of backend development experience with Java SE, including 5+ years of experience with Java SE 10+.
• You bring 8+ years of hands-on experience in the design, definition, and development of APIs and microservices.
• You possess 5+ years of experience as an Agile Delivery Master or Scrum Master within greenfield and cloud-native projects.
• You have 5+ years of experience with Event Driven Architecture, event sourcing, and event handling.
• You bring 5+ years of experience in software design specifically for Cloud, APIs, and microservices.
• You have 5+ years of experience implementing agile frameworks such as SAFe and LeSS.
• You possess 3+ years of experience using Azure DevOps to manage agile solution delivery.
• You have a degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited European institution.
• You are proactive, solution-oriented, and able to work independently within a multidisciplinary team.
• You are fluent in English, Dutch, and French.

Nice to Haves

• Knowledge and practical use of Domain Driven Design (DDD), Behavioral Driven Development (BDD), and Testing.
• Experience with the Angular framework.
