Power BI Functional Data Analyst – Cloud & Data Platform

Our client, a prominent public sector organization, is seeking two specialists to support the migration of their data warehouse to the Microsoft Azure cloud. This project focuses on modernizing reporting capabilities through the implementation of Microsoft Fabric and Power BI. The role involves translating business processes into technical data models to ensure high-performance data delivery.

• Translate business processes and requirements into specific technical requirements for the data platform.
• Design and optimize datasets and data models based on data warehouse architectures.
• Align Power BI models with star and snowflake schemas in collaboration with Data Engineers.
• Implement and manage data governance, security protocols, and performance monitoring for all datasets.
• Lead the testing and validation phases for newly developed datasets to ensure data integrity.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for all technical solutions and internal procedures.
• Ensure adherence to organizational standards regarding data security and publication.

• 5+ years of experience in functional analysis and data analysis.
• 3+ years of professional experience with Power BI Desktop & Service, focusing on dataset implementation and modeling.
• You bring practical knowledge of data modeling methodologies such as Kimball, Inmon, Star schema, and Snowflake.
• You possess advanced proficiency in SQL, DAX, and Power Query.
• You have hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and its integration within the Azure ecosystem.
• You're familiar with Row-Level Security (RLS) and data governance practices in cloud environments.
• You possess knowledge of CI/CD processes using Azure DevOps or GitHub.
• You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
• You bring excellent communication skills and the ability to simplify technical concepts for team members.
• You are fluent in French or Dutch with passive knowledge of the other language and English.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with Sparx Enterprise Architect for system documentation.
• Knowledge of SAP BI universes.
