Senior System & Software Engineer – OpenVMS & Legacy Systems

Our client, a leading organization in the energy sector, is seeking an experienced specialist to manage and evolve critical legacy systems. The role involves a combination of technical solution design using specialized programming languages and the administration of a high-availability cluster environment.

• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and implement them using Cobol, C, Pascal, and Fortran.
• Manage the Oracle database and oversee data management within the application architecture.
• Provide technical support for software, hardware, and interface issues, including 24/7 incident follow-up.
• Develop and maintain scripts for the OpenVMS system using DCL.
• Perform system management of an OpenVMS-cluster, including the management of queues, SSH, and other system components.

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering and implementation using Cobol, C, Pascal, and Fortran.
• 8+ years of experience in system management of OpenVMS-clusters and Itanium hardware.
• Extensive experience with DCL scripting within OpenVMS environments.
• Proven expertise in Oracle database management and general data management.
• You bring experience in providing technical support and handling incident management for complex software and hardware interfaces.
• You possess a proactive approach to problem-solving and are willing to participate in a 24/7 standby rotation.
• You are fluent in Dutch and English.
