Expert Head of Security – Aviation Security & Compliance

Our client, a leading operator of a major national airport, is seeking a strategic leader to safeguard critical infrastructure. This role oversees the definition and implementation of security policies, ensuring strict compliance with international aviation regulations while managing a large-scale security department and high-value service contracts.

• Direct the implementation of security policies to ensure compliance with national and international aviation regulations.
• Manage and coach a large security department, including direct leadership of security managers and duty managers.
• Oversee the airport security plan and ensure successful results during audits and inspections by authorities.
• Handle the procurement and management of security service contracts, ensuring service levels meet regulatory standards.
• Coordinate with public safety services and international stakeholders to align security measures across all airport domains.
• Monitor and implement advancements in security technology to optimize airport safety processes.

• 8+ years of experience in a management role within complex organizational environments.
• Extensive expertise in aviation security legislation on national, European, and global levels.
• Proven experience leading large teams and managing department-wide security operations.
• In-depth knowledge of private security law, criminal law, and national police policy structures.
• Strong background in contract management for surveillance and security services.
• Practical experience in the evaluation and deployment of security technologies.
• Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management and communication with governmental authorities.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• You are fluent in Dutch, French, and English.

• Willingness to obtain the mandate for Assistant Chief Inspector of Airport Inspection.
