Senior Functional Analyst – Application Migration & SAS Modernization

Our client, a large organization based in Brussels, is looking for a Senior Functional Analyst to drive the strategic transition of their legacy application landscape. This role involves managing the end-to-end functional analysis for a high-priority migration project, ensuring the seamless replacement of existing systems with modern internal or commercial solutions.

• Identify, analyze, and document business needs by performing detailed AS-IS analysis of existing legacy applications.
• Lead and facilitate workshops with diverse stakeholders to define TO-BE business processes and requirements.
• Document business functional requirements and conduct gap analyses to evaluate potential replacement solutions.
• Translate complex requirements into actionable features and technical documentation for development teams.
• Design data models, develop use cases, and create mock-ups to support system architecture and design.
• Manage the product backlog and define implementation paths in close collaboration with project managers and developers.
• Define test scenarios and acceptance criteria to perform rigorous testing before business delivery.

• 8+ years of experience in functional analysis using BPMN, UML, and Business Requirements documentation.
• 8+ years of experience working in Agile and SCRUM environments, including the creation of User Stories and Use Cases.
• 8+ years of experience in Data modeling and working with Databases.
• You have a proven track record in application or database migration projects.
• You possess strong skills in workshop facilitation and stakeholder management.
• You bring proficiency in GitLab and MS Office for documentation and version control.
• You have experience defining test scenarios and performing functional acceptance testing.
• You're able to produce functional mock-ups and design intuitive system flows.
• You are fluent in English with an active knowledge of Dutch and French.

Nice to Haves

• Prior experience working with or migrating from SAS technology.
• Experience in large-scale digital transformation programs.
