Expert Application Support Engineer – Windows & Linux

Our client, a leading organization in the European energy sector, is looking for an Expert Application Support Engineer to maintain and deploy critical business applications. This role involves managing complex infrastructure across Windows and Linux environments, focusing on high availability, security, and disaster recovery.

• Deploy and update in-house applications within Windows IIS and SQL-based acceptance and production environments.
• Design and implement application server architectures for new deployments while ensuring technical requirements are met.
• Validate and execute infrastructure components of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans.
• Provide second and third-line technical troubleshooting for core applications and middleware solutions.
• Configure network load balancing VIPs and manage security settings including firewalls and authentication.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call duty rotation to guarantee continuous service availability.

• 8+ years of expert experience with Windows Server (2012-2022).
• Experience supporting applications on Linux RedHat, including scripting, health monitoring, and log analysis.
• Knowledge of IIS management and web application deployment processes.
• Experience with PowerShell for system administration and automation.
• Understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals involving firewalls and network load balancing.
• Analytical mindset with a pragmatic and customer-oriented approach to troubleshooting.
• You possess a valid driver's license and mobile phone for on-call responsibilities.
• You are fluent in Dutch or French with professional proficiency in English and at least passive knowledge of the other national language.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with MS-SQL, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, NEO4J, or Redis Cache.
• Familiarity with F5 load balancing technology.
• Knowledge of German.
