Senior Functional Analyst – Traffic Management Systems

Our client, a prominent organization in the transport and infrastructure sector, is looking for a Senior Functional Analyst to drive the evolution of their traffic management software solutions. The role focuses on translating stakeholder requirements into functional and technical specifications for critical operational applications.

• Identify and document business requirements through various elicitation methods.
• Analyze and optimize existing processes to improve operational efficiency and accuracy.
• Develop detailed functional specifications and requirements for the engineering teams.
• Define appropriate data models and structures based on stakeholder needs.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure technical solutions align with business requirements.
• Create and execute test cases and scenarios to validate system functionality.
• Perform impact analyses based on new or changing business requirements.

• 15+ years of experience in business and functional analysis within IT projects using Agile/Scrum.
• 15+ years of experience in requirements gathering and writing detailed use cases.
• 15+ years of experience documenting functional requirements for large-scale systems.
• 5+ years of experience with design and modeling techniques including RUP, UML, and BPM.
• 5+ years of experience with functional testing and validation processes.
• 5+ years of experience with RDBMS such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL.
• Experience with analysis and collaboration tools such as Enterprise Architect, Balsamiq, Draw.io, Miro, Confluence, and JIRA.
• Basic knowledge of software development principles including Object-Oriented (OO), .NET, MVC, and web design.
• Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to work effectively under pressure.
• You are fluent in Dutch or French (C1 level) with B2 level in the second language and C1 level in English.

Nice to Haves

• Proven experience drafting technical documentation such as user guides and work instructions.
• Knowledge of the transport or railway industry.
