Expert Cloud Architect – Azure & Hybrid Infrastructure

Our client, a leading organization in the public sector, is seeking an Expert Cloud Architect to support the design and professionalization of their infrastructure environment. The project focuses on creating secure, scalable, and resilient hybrid cloud solutions to ensure operational continuity and high performance across critical systems.

• Design and validate robust cloud and hybrid architectures tailored to organizational needs.
• Define technical standards for landing zones, network security, and identity and access models.
• Guide the implementation of infrastructure-oriented components including storage, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Translate functional and technical requirements into manageable and secure cloud solutions in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide architectural advice and clear documentation to support operational teams during handover.
• Promote security-by-design principles and Zero Trust models across the infrastructure landscape.

• You have 8+ years in Microsoft Azure architecture, including IaaS, PaaS, landing zones, and resource governance.
• You bring 8+ years of experience with Azure networking including VNets, DNS, routing, private endpoints, firewalls, and ExpressRoute.
• You possess 8+ years in hybrid infrastructure and the integration between on-premise datacenters and cloud environments.
• You have 8+ years in Identity and Access Management and Cloud security architecture using Microsoft Entra ID, Zero Trust, and security-by-design.
• You bring 8+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation using Terraform, Bicep, ARM, PowerShell, or Azure CLI.
• You possess 8+ years managing monitoring, logging, and observability with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Defender for Cloud.
• You have 8+ years implementing Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery solutions including high availability and replication.
• You bring professional experience with container platforms such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, or AKS.
• You're proactive and solution-oriented with strong analytical abilities and the capacity to work in complex environments.
• You have an active knowledge of Dutch, French, and English.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with Windows Server, Linux Server, and virtualization concepts.
• Knowledge of enterprise storage on-premise.

• Duration: 3 months (extension possible)

• Location: Brussels
• Working model: Hybrid (minimum 2 days onsite per week)
