At Pauwels Consulting, we connect talented scientists with projects that matter. For one of our clients, a leading global biopharmaceutical company, we're looking for you to join the Analytical Science and Technology (AST) team at their state-of-the-art biologics facility in the Kempen region.

The team is part of the client's global Manufacturing Science, Analytics and Technology (MSAT) organization. You'll develop and implement critical analytical methods that safeguard the quality and consistency of mammalian cell culture processes across an international biologics network.

The pipeline is impressive: more than 20 innovative therapies are set to reach patients in the next 3–5 years. Think monoclonal antibodies, fusion proteins, ADCs, synthorins and nanobodies. The portfolio spans multiple products, modalities and expression systems, at internal and external sites across the US and Europe.

Your work directly supports successful product launches and manufacturing excellence. You'll grow your expertise in a collaborative, scientifically stimulating environment at the leading edge of biopharma. And you'll have the full support of Pauwels Consulting behind you, every step of the way.

Responsabilités

Lead analytical method transfer and validation projects

You take full ownership of your method transfer and validation projects for biologics production processes, from kick-off to completion. You define the right validation and transfer strategy in line with ICH Q2(R2), USP and Ph. Eur., and make sure content, potency and impurity testing are fully covered. You design and run analytical studies, troubleshoot method performance and lead root cause investigations when deviations occur. Along the way, you work closely with R&D, MSAT, CROs and QC. In project meetings, you share status updates, flag risks early and present your results.

Grow into a subject matter expert

You build deep knowledge of the methods, instruments and products you're responsible for. You draw on internal expertise as well as scientific literature, vendor contacts and regulatory guidelines. Over time, you become the go-to person for technical, practical and regulatory questions on your methods, and you help colleagues and stakeholders move forward.

Deliver high-quality documentation

  • You write analytical method procedures (SOPs), study protocols and reports.
  • You document experiments in electronic lab systems, in full compliance with data integrity requirements.
  • You trend data, perform statistical analyses and monitor method performance to keep methods reliable.
  • You review colleagues' experiments, data and reports with a critical, constructive eye.
  • You make sure all documentation meets cGMP and regulatory standards.

Get hands-on in the lab, as part of the team

  • You perform analytical testing with techniques such as ELISA, electrophoresis, receptor binding assays, qPCR and spectroscopy (Cary60, SoloVPE).
  • You support small-scale testing activities.
  • You carry out routine instrument maintenance to keep everything running smoothly.
  • You help keep the lab clean and organized, from general housekeeping and clearing out freezers and storage areas to team efforts like dispensing and labeling large batches of assay controls.

Exigences

Your background

You hold a PhD in Life Sciences, Biochemistry or Biotechnology, or you've built equivalent expertise through experience.

Your technical expertise

  • You have proven experience in analytical qualification and validation for biologics, such as monoclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins or vaccines.
  • You bring strong hands-on expertise in ELISA, protein binding interaction methods and spectroscopy.
  • You know your way around the ICH Q guidelines and the USP and Ph. Eur. monographs and general chapters relevant to biologics testing.
  • You have excellent knowledge of cGMP requirements for analytical testing in biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • You can design and run DOE experiments for assay qualification and validation, and you're comfortable interpreting complex datasets.
  • You perform basic statistical analyses and interpret method performance parameters with confidence.

Nice to have

  • Experience with automated liquid handlers such as Tecan, Hamilton or Andrew+.
  • Knowledge of protein characterization techniques, such as CD, DLS, AUC, DSF and Western, Southern or Northern blotting.

How you work

  • You turn regulatory requirements into practical, compliant and effective action plans.
  • You're a sharp analytical problem-solver.
  • You plan your projects independently and juggle multiple projects at once.
  • You're happy to switch between lab work and desk-based analysis.
  • You analyze data critically, draw sound scientific conclusions and put them into clear words.
  • You write strong protocols and reports.
  • You embrace digital tools and innovation, and you're open to using AI-driven technologies to support analytical workflows and data analysis.

Languages

  • You're fluent in English and Dutch, both written and spoken.
