AI Expert – Operations Research & Planning Optimization

Our client, a major player in the maritime and logistics sector, is looking for a specialist to join their data intelligence team. The project involves creating and prototyping holistic planning optimizations within complex nautical chains to enhance operational efficiency and throughput.

• Identify optimization opportunities within complex nautical supply chains.
• Develop advanced planning techniques to improve efficiency and logistics flow.
• Create and prototype holistic planning optimizations that integrate multiple functional domains and data streams.
• Build and test prototypes to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of new planning strategies.
• Collaborate closely with intelligence teams and stakeholders across the nautical chain to align on technical solutions.

• 5+ years of experience with optimization solvers such as CPLEX and IPOPT.
• 5+ years of experience in software development involving version control and CI/CD with Git and Azure DevOps.
• 5+ years of experience as an Innovation Consultant.
• 2+ years of experience setting up scalable Constraint Programming workflows within a supply chain context.
• 2+ years of experience in multi-objective operations research using metaheuristics and MILP-solvers.
• You possess a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• You have a proven track record of developing holistic planning optimization prototypes integrating multiple data streams.
• You bring experience in Process Engineering, Lean, or Continuous Improvement.
• You have experience with business processes and project management.
• You are fluent in Dutch at a C2 level.

Nice to Haves

• Experience acting as a Product Owner or functional owner of planning and optimization solutions.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams of consultants or developers.
