Junior Application Owner – Railway Operations

Our client, a prominent player in the transportation sector, is seeking an Application Owner to manage a critical portfolio of operational applications. This role ensures the end-to-end performance, stability, and lifecycle management of software solutions while bridging the gap between business needs and technical delivery.

• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle, stability, and performance of a dedicated application portfolio.
• Act as a primary escalation point for complex functional incidents and structural service requests.
• Advise business stakeholders and IT management on the strategic roadmap and application vision.
• Coordinate change implementations and sprint activities while prioritizing the work backlog.
• Maintain relationships with external suppliers and lead contract management processes, including RFPs.
• Collaborate with security, architecture, and infrastructure teams to ensure compliance and successful remediation actions.
• Provide functional support and documentation before, during, and after production releases.

• You have a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or 5+ years of equivalent professional experience.
• You bring 5+ years of experience as an Application Owner, Functional Analyst, or Technical Analyst within a support environment.
• You possess 5+ years of experience within the railway industry managing packaged software.
• You have proven experience in managing business-critical applications through run, enhancement, release, and decommission phases.
• You're experienced in Supplier & Contract Management, including RFP processes and license management.
• You bring expertise in release governance, incident management, and backlog prioritization.
• You have specialized knowledge of EBI Star equipment.
• You're able to coordinate effectively across security, architecture, infrastructure, and compliance domains.
• You possess the autonomy to align business, IT, and external stakeholders for successful application lifecycle execution.
• You are fluent in English with a C2 level of French and/or Dutch.

• Knowledge of SQL and Oracle databases.
