Our client, a public sector organization, is seeking an Expert Agile Programme Manager to lead a strategic automation-focused release train. This role involves orchestrating a multidisciplinary team to modernize backend services while ensuring strict compliance with architectural and security standards.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and assign work to a multidisciplinary team to automate and digitize backend service delivery.
  • Orchestrate the release train by managing dependencies, priorities, and strategic alignment with the organizational roadmap.
  • Implement pragmatic governance structures, including rituals, reporting, risk management, and dependency tracking.
  • Foster collaboration between the strategy team, PMO, and technical departments to ensure delivery of high-quality solutions.
  • Coach and develop team members to improve autonomy and facilitate knowledge transfer within the project.
  • Represent the team in steering committees and program increment planning to report on progress and strategic benefits.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in Program & Project Management including scoping, resource planning, and budget management.
  • 8+ years with Agile collaboration models within complex or public sector environments.
  • Proven experience in Backend service digitalization and automation initiatives.
  • Demonstrated expertise in People Management within a non-hierarchical project context.
  • Solid background in governance, risk management, and reporting techniques.
  • Ability to coach junior profiles and facilitate sustainable knowledge transfer.
  • You're able to provide a concise mission statement (max 1000 words) describing your approach to this specific project context.
  • You bring a CV (max 3-4 pages) highlighting relevant professional experiences and tangible results.
  • Pragmatic, hands-on, and polyvalent approach to problem-solving.
  • You possess an active knowledge of French and Dutch.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience working within small to medium-sized organizations.
  • Knowledge of specific public administration strategic planning frameworks.

  • Duration: 12 months (with possibility of extension).
  • Work regime: Full-time.
  • Location: Brussels.
