Our client, a global leader in marine engineering and offshore infrastructure, is looking for a Category Manager Auxiliary Equipment. This role focuses on developing strategic category plans that enhance cost efficiency and sustainability while providing leadership to a dedicated team of procurement professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute category strategies to optimize cost, quality, and operational efficiency across the organization.
  • Lead and coach a team of category and operational buyers to ensure high-quality procurement service levels.
  • Manage high-value framework agreements and critical spot buys for essential project resources.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders on a global scale.
  • Monitor market trends and conduct research to identify opportunities for innovation and process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with sourcing procedures and track team performance through defined KPIs.

Requirements

  • You possess a Bachelor or Master degree in engineering, Business Administration, Applied Economics, or Supply Chain Management.
  • You have 8+ years of experience in strategic purchasing, category management, or logistics management.
  • You bring proven experience in coaching and leading a team within a professional procurement environment.
  • You possess strong commercial and negotiation skills with expertise in supplier relationship management and contract management.
  • You're a results-oriented team player with a strategic mindset and the ability to drive change in international settings.
  • You are fluent in English.

  • Relevant experience in the maritime or civil infrastructure industry.
  • Proficiency in Dutch.
