Senior Functional & Data Analyst – Risk & Compliance Monitoring

The role involves translating complex business needs into structured functional specifications and guiding the delivery of high-quality digital solutions within a data-driven environment.

Our client, a leading financial services organization, is building a centralized control-room platform to enhance risk monitoring, automate control follow-up, and improve operational transparency. The Senior Functional Data Analyst will translate business and regulatory needs into structured functional designs, supporting the delivery of a modern, data-driven solution within an Agile environment.

• Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Data stakeholders to gather, analyze, and challenge business requirements.
• Translate requirements into clear functional specifications, user stories, and process models.
• Design dashboards, alerts, workflows, data flows, and reporting features aligned with the project vision.
• Define rules for automated controls and alerting mechanisms within the control-room solution.
• Support Agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and acceptance testing.
• Validate deliverables during testing cycles and ensure alignment with functional expectations.
• Maintain structured documentation and proactively identify improvements in usability and process optimization.

• You have 5+ years of experience as a Functional Analyst or Business Analyst within banking or insurance environments.
• You demonstrate strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills and can translate business needs into structured functional designs.
• You have experience working in Agile environments (Scrum or Kanban).
• You have experience working on data-driven or digital transformation projects.
• You are proficient in DQL/SQL and understand data models and APIs.
• You are familiar with tools such as Jira, GitHub or Bitbucket, and collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams.
• You have experience with dashboarding or monitoring tools such as Qlik Sense or similar solutions.
• You demonstrate strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• You are fluent in English and have knowledge of Dutch.

• Experience within risk and compliance domains.
• Experience with process modelling techniques such as BPMN or UML.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk or Power BI.
• Knowledge of workflow and automation tools.
• Experience working in regulated financial environments.
