We are seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist with expertise in induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) technology and organoid models to join an In Vitro Pharmacology team focused on translational neuroscience research.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of advanced central nervous system (CNS) and peripheral nervous system (PNS) in vitro models supporting preclinical drug discovery. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment dedicated to developing innovative therapies for neurological diseases
Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and maintain CNS and/or PNS organoid cultures derived from iPSCs.
- Establish and validate quantitative cell-based assays using 2D and 3D neural models.
- Generate high-quality experimental data to support target identification, validation, and preclinical research programs.
- Design and implement translational in vitro models with disease-relevant functional readouts.
- Analyze, interpret, and communicate experimental results to multidisciplinary project teams.
- Collaborate with internal and external scientific partners while utilizing state-of-the-art technologies.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Master's degree or PhD in Cell Biology, Neuroscience, or a related life science discipline.
- Experience developing neural organoid models from iPSCs for disease modeling and pharmacological applications.
- Previous experience in a translational research or drug discovery environment is considered an asset.
Desired Skills
The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in one or more of the following:
- Differentiation of iPSCs into neural cell types using both 2D and 3D culture systems.
- Development and optimization of quantitative cell-based assays.
- Viral vector transduction (AAV or lentiviral vectors) and/or small-molecule treatments in cell lines, primary neural cells, or iPSC-derived neural cells.
- Cell-based analytical techniques including flow cytometry, ELISA, MSD, immunofluorescence, MEA, and calcium imaging.
- Molecular biology techniques including RNA sequencing, CRISPR guide design, single-cell transcriptomics, and spatial transcriptomics.
- Advanced imaging methods, including high-content imaging and confocal microscopy.
