Our client, a major organization in the Belgian public transport sector, is looking for a FinOps Practitioner to lead the coordination and advancement of cloud financial initiatives. This role involves planning and prioritizing optimization efforts across diverse technology areas while fostering a shared language between finance and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and optimize multi-cloud usage and costs using techniques like reserved instances, spot instances, and autoscaling.
  • Establish cloud financial governance standards including tagging, cost allocation, and budget controls.
  • Develop accurate budgets and forecasts while implementing chargeback and showback models.
  • Produce actionable cost reports and dashboards aligned with the FinOps Open Cost and Usage Specification (FOCUS).
  • Lead the coordination of FinOps improvement actions and optimization efforts across the organization.
  • Partner with procurement to negotiate contracts, enterprise agreements, and discount strategies.
  • Integrate FinOps practices and spend monitoring into CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.

Requirements

  • You have 5+ years of professional experience in FinOps.
  • You possess experience with at least two hyperscalers, with mandatory expertise in Azure.
  • You bring demonstrable experience in enterprise Cloud, DataCenter, Licensing, IA, and SaaS budgeting and forecasting.
  • You have valid FinOps Certified Practitioner and FinOps Certified FOCUS Analyst certifications.
  • You're proficient in defining tagging and cost allocation standards.
  • You possess the ability to design Reserved Instance and Savings Plan strategies and identify cost savings through rightsizing.
  • You bring knowledge of Belgian and EU financial, security, and reporting regulations.
  • You're able to train and mentor teams to embed FinOps practices across the organization.
  • You are fluent in English at a C1 level.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience building automated dashboards for anomaly detection and cost insights.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code integrations.
