System Engineer – Software Defined Data Center & Storage

Our client, a leading public service organization, is seeking a System Engineer to strengthen their Software Defined Data Center team. This role focuses on the management, optimization, and modernization of central infrastructure platforms with a specific emphasis on implementing a new strategic storage platform.

• Manage and support enterprise storage, virtualization, and end-user computing platforms.
• Execute infrastructure changes following established procedures and standards.
• Monitor system performance and perform root cause analysis for complex incidents.
• Analyze and optimize existing infrastructure components to ensure continuity.
• Participate actively in migration, innovation, and infrastructure transformation projects.
• Document technical configurations, procedures, and solutions for internal teams.

• You have 3+ years of experience in system administration focusing on Windows Server and core infrastructure services.
• You bring 3+ years of experience with enterprise storage platforms and professional storage protocols.
• You possess 3+ years of experience managing virtual infrastructures and fundamental virtualization concepts.
• You have 3+ years of experience performing troubleshooting and root cause analysis for critical infrastructure.
• You bring 2+ years of experience working with specific virtualization platforms.
• You possess knowledge of Unix or Linux systems at a system engineering level.
• You're familiar with ITIL processes, specifically regarding change management.
• You possess strong communication skills and collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• You're proactive, solution-oriented, and able to function independently in complex environments.
• You are fluent in Dutch with a C2 level.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with Cohesity, Pure Storage, NetApp, or S3 Object Storage.
• Technical knowledge of Nutanix AHV, VMware vSphere, and Omnissa Horizon.
• Familiarity with SMB/NFS protocols and basic Linux appliance management.
• Experience in large-scale enterprise environments with high-availability and security requirements.
• Knowledge of modern Software Defined Data Center architectures.
