About this role

J&J Beerse is one of the world's leading centres for pharmaceutical R&D and manufacturing. Within the PDMS department (Pharmaceutical Development & Manufacturing Sciences), you play a key role in the quality and safety of Small Molecule drug products — from early development through to commercial production. You work in a global environment with direct impact on patient safety worldwide.

What you'll do

• Lead R&D and Lifecycle Management projects related to microbiology for Small Molecule products.
• Provide scientific input on the development, qualification, and validation of microbiological test methods.
• Coordinate global method transfers and harmonisation activities across Janssen sites and external partners.
• Review and approve development reports, validation reports, and microbiological test methods (sterility, bioburden, ATP bioluminescence, bacterial endotoxin, PET/AET, and more).
• Manage and follow up on Change Controls within the microbiology domain.
• Ensure full compliance with all GMP, regulatory, and J&J quality requirements.

Your profile

• MSc or PhD in Pharmaceutical Microbiology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of microbiological test methods and GxP principles (FDA, EU, ICH).
• Experience in an international, cross-functional project environment.
• Self-motivated, hands-on, and able to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Professional and scientific English, spoken and written.
