As a Corrosion / RBI Engineer, you will support the Inspection Methods Cell in maintaining corrosion documentation, improving inspection databases, and providing technical expertise on corrosion-related issues. You will work in close collaboration with internal stakeholders across Process, Production, and Maintenance within a leading refinery and petrochemical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Inspection Methods Cell in maintaining and updating corrosion manuals, including damage mechanisms, corrosion rates, and corrosion loops.
  • Structure, maintain, and continuously improve the corrosion and inspection database.
  • Provide technical support on corrosion-related issues, including troubleshooting and Root Cause Analyses (RCA).
  • Collaborate with the Method Cell team to develop annual and long-term inspection programmes.
  • Support Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) studies, including the definition of inspection effectiveness according to identified damage mechanisms.
  • Coordinate with contractors for the installation and follow-up of corrosion monitoring probes.
  • Ensure all activities are performed in strict compliance with applicable site safety rules.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Master's degree, preferably in materials science.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in corrosion engineering and/or Risk-Based Inspection in a refinery or petrochemical environment.

Technical Skills

  • Solid knowledge of refining, petrochemical, and polymer processes.
  • Strong background in materials science, with a focus on corrosion.
  • Good knowledge of damage mechanisms as defined in API 571.
  • Good knowledge of inspection techniques and practices.
  • Proven understanding of RBI methodologies (API 580 / API 581).
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, plot plans, technical data sheets, and flag sheets.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) and strong working knowledge of relevant inspection and corrosion management tools.
