Our client, a leading organization in the transport and logistics sector, is looking for a Functional Analyst to support their real-time operations and data exchange initiatives. This role involves bridging the gap between business requirements and technical systems integration to ensure compliance with European regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Analyze existing systems and data models to identify gaps relative to regulatory requirements and integration objectives.
- Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications, including data mapping and XML message schemas.
- Define inbound and outbound data flows between internal systems and common interfaces.
- Perform SQL-based data analysis and validation to ensure the integrity and conformity of exchanged information.
- Collaborate with solution vendors and internal IT teams to troubleshoot integration issues and manage change requests.
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- You have 5+ years of experience in a technical or functional analyst role, specifically within systems integration projects.
- You possess 2+ years of experience with systems integration concepts and technologies including API-based integrations, message-based exchanges, ETL processes, and middleware platforms.
- You bring proficiency in SQL for data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting.
- You have working knowledge of XML, including reading, writing, and validating documents against XSD schemas.
- You're skilled in producing functional documentation such as data mappings, interface specifications, and process diagrams.
- You possess a Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- You are fluent in English.
Nice to Haves
- Working knowledge of JIRA and Confluence for requirement and workflow management.
- Experience with User Stories and Acceptance Criteria definition in early project stages.
- Fluency in Dutch or French.

- Work regime: Full-time.
- Location: Brussels.
- Working model: Hybrid (onsite 2 days per week).
- Contract: open to both permanent employees and freelancers.
