Senior Software Architect – Java & Kubernetes

Our client, a leading organization in the HR services sector, is looking for a technical leader to join their architecture team. This pure architecture role focuses on defining technical standards and ensuring design quality across a broad application landscape without direct coding responsibilities. The position acts as a strategic liaison between leadership and engineering teams to drive innovation and technical excellence.

• Define architectural strategies and technical guidelines for development teams within a complex Java ecosystem.
• Design and implement scalable, reliable, and cost-efficient cloud-native architectures in collaboration with solution architects.
• Lead the Technical Advisory Board and the software Center of Excellence to foster innovation and maintain standards.
• Translate architectural standards into actionable technical roadmaps for engineering squads.
• Oversee the security, performance, and reliability of mission-critical systems.
• Provide technical mentorship and coaching to developers and lead engineers.

• You have 8+ years of experience in backend development and architecture within the Java ecosystem.
• You possess extensive expertise in microservices and architectural design patterns.
• You bring advanced knowledge of Azure and Kubernetes platforms.
• You have proven experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines to support high-availability environments.
• You possess a strong background in API architecture and designing scalable enterprise systems.
• You have experience performing security reviews and architectural risk analyses.
• You're experienced in technical coaching and mentoring development teams.
• You bring a conceptual mindset with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders.
• You are fluent in Dutch.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with large-scale Azure environments.
• Knowledge of AI platforms and ISO27001 or NIS2 frameworks.
• Experience building Software Centers of Excellence.
• Background in platform engineering.
