Enterprise Data Architect – Information Management & Governance

Our client, a leading organization in the energy and utility sector, is looking for an Enterprise Data Architect. This role ensures that enterprise data is handled consistently, securely, and efficiently across the entire application landscape while acting as the guardian of data integrity and coherence.

• Translate business strategy into target data architectures to ensure long-term scalability and adaptability.
• Build and maintain the Business Information Model (BIM) by defining core business entities and consistent data definitions.
• Map the information model to existing applications to clarify data creation, transformation, and consumption points.
• Review and assess data flows between systems to ensure accuracy and alignment with business capabilities.
• Maintain modeling standards, data normalization, metadata management, and data lineage documentation.
• Guide the adoption of data governance principles and practices across the organization.
• Collaborate with other architects to align all aspects of technical and functional architecture.

• You have 5+ years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, data warehousing, and enterprise information management.
• You bring strong expertise in data modeling techniques including conceptual, logical, and physical modeling.
• You possess experience in MDM, metadata management, data quality frameworks, and governance tooling.
• You have experience designing enterprise-wide data domains, canonical models, and shared data services.
• You bring an understanding of integration patterns, APIs, ETL/ELT, data virtualization, and streaming technologies.
• You have knowledge of data security, GDPR, and compliance principles.
• You're able to create, maintain, and explain modeling diagrams and functional documentation.
• You possess a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Commercial Engineering, or a related scientific field.
• You are a proactive communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
• You are fluent in English.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with enterprise architecture tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect.
• Possession of certifications such as TOGAF, DAMA, ITIL, AWS, Azure, or MDM.
• Familiarity with the utility or energy sector, specifically in asset management or metering.
• Professional proficiency in Dutch and French.
