Our client, a major organization in the transport infrastructure sector, is seeking a Senior Application Manager to oversee the technical architecture of critical signalling design platforms. This role focuses on ensuring technical solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with long-term infrastructure strategies while managing the transition from legacy systems to modern microservices.

Responsibilities

  • Design and validate technical architectures including infrastructure, middleware, and integration components for critical signalling systems.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams spanning cybersecurity, infrastructure, and operations to align technological choices with organizational strategy.
  • Perform technical impact analysis for application integrations and validate technology stacks proposed by development teams.
  • Produce comprehensive technical documentation, including AS-IS/TO-BE roadmaps and action plans for digital transformation.
  • Monitor market trends in cloud computing and artificial intelligence to propose innovative improvements for the technical landscape.
  • Integrate cybersecurity requirements into system designs to ensure compliance with international security and quality standards.

Requirements

  • You have 8+ years of experience in technical architecture or application management within complex infrastructure environments.
  • You possess 3+ years of experience with IT infrastructure including servers, operating systems, storage, databases, and virtualization.
  • You bring 2+ years of experience with Cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • You have 2+ years of experience in DevOps and CI/CD using tools like Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, or OpenShift.
  • You bring 2+ years of experience in Middleware & integration including APIs, ESB, microservices, and microfront-ends.
  • You possess 2+ years of experience with security and quality standards such as ISO 27001, ISO 9001, and NIS/NIS2.
  • You have 2+ years of experience in Project Management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or PMBOK.
  • You bring 2+ years of experience with UML and third-party/legacy system integration.
  • You're proactive, possess strong analytical skills, and are able to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • You are fluent in French or Dutch at C2 level, with B2 level proficiency in the other language and C1 level in English.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with the Enterprise Architect modeling tool.
  • Proficiency with collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with the EN 50128 standard for railway applications.
