Mechanical Designer process & piping

Our client, a leading international player in the metallurgical industry, is seeking a professional to design mechanical and piping installations for investment projects. The project involves modernizing and expanding production facilities from initial concept through to final execution.

• Translate client requirements into technical designs for equipment, piping, and mechanical components.
• Coordinate the drafting of PFDs and P&IDs while providing essential technical input.
• Design 3D layout plans and mechanical structures using specialized engineering software.
• Prepare detailed piping specifications and perform calculations for pipe sizing, pump capacity, and PED classification.
• Develop technical specification books for bidding processes and evaluate external contractor proposals.
• Provide technical support during project realization and startup to ensure quality and compliance.
• Maintain project documentation and ensure the completion of as-built construction files.

• You have a Bachelor or Master in Mechanics, Electromechanics, or an equivalent level through experience.
• You bring 7+ years of relevant experience in designing process installations within an industrial environment.
• You possess advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Plant 3D.
• You have a valid VCA certification.
• You're an analytical team player with strong communication and organizational skills.
• You are fluent in Dutch and English.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with Revit, Inventor, or setting up 3D layouts.
• Knowledge of PED, ATEX, or VLAREM regulations.
• Basic knowledge of German and French.
