Medior Java Developer – Spring Boot & REST APIs

Our client, a prominent organization in the public sector, is seeking a developer to strengthen their technical team. The role involves the end-to-end development, testing, and maintenance of Java-based applications to support digital transformation initiatives.

• Develop and maintain high-quality backend services using Java and modern frameworks.
• Design and implement robust REST APIs for various system integrations.
• Perform thorough coding, testing, and debugging to ensure software excellence.
• Execute application maintenance and troubleshooting independently to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate within an Agile environment to deliver incremental value and maintain code quality.

• 3+ years of backend development experience with Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot.
• 3+ years of experience with the implementation and management of REST APIs.
• Experience with frontend development using TypeScript.
• Proficiency in database querying and management with SQL.
• You possess a formal certification in Java or equivalent through professional experience.
• You are fluent in Dutch with a C2 level of proficiency.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with React for frontend development.
• Knowledge of Bamboo, Helm charts, and Atlassian Tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Experience developing applications that utilize geospatial data.
• Previous professional experience within the public sector or Flemish Government.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies and performing independent code maintenance.

• Duration: project until 15/07/2027.
