Our client, a significant public administration, is undertaking a large-scale modernization program to transition a legacy monolithic application into a modern microservices architecture on Kubernetes. A leading organization is looking for a Senior Application Tester to ensure the quality of this API-first and event-driven platform while supporting business transformation goals.
Responsibilities
- Prepare comprehensive test plans, create test cases, and manage the documentation of software anomalies.
- Clarify functional and non-functional requirements in collaboration with developers, analysts, and stakeholders.
- Execute specialized testing for API and message-queuing systems including edge-case detection.
- Provide coaching and expertise in testing methodologies to the broader team.
- Perform exploratory testing and critical analysis from an end-user perspective to ensure value delivery.
- Report on software quality and test results clearly to technical and management parties.
- Monitor and track quality metrics using integrated test management tools.
Requirements
- You have 8+ years of experience in software testing with a focus on Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- You bring 8+ years of expertise in API testing using tools such as Postman, SoapUI, and OpenAPI.
- You possess 8+ years of experience with BDD and Gherkin for behavior-driven development.
- You're experienced with 8+ years using Jira, Confluence, and Xray for test management and collaboration.
- You have 8+ years of experience testing message-queuing systems like ActiveMQ and RabbitMQ.
- You bring 8+ years of experience in test planning, manual testing documentation, and functional requirement clarification.
- You have 1+ years of experience with automation tools such as Playwright and Selenium.
- You possess strong programming logic and knowledge of JSON, DLQ, and idempotency concepts.
- You're familiar with testing methodologies and ideally hold ISTQB certifications.
- You are fluent in English.

- Active knowledge of Dutch or French.
