Our client, a leading pharmaceutical organization, is seeking an External Research Opportunity Lead to manage the end-to-end lifecycle of external research collaborations. This role ensures that all projects align with strategic goals and adhere to strict compliance and regulatory requirements across multiple therapeutic areas.
Responsibilities
- Lead the review, assessment, and approval activities for external research opportunities including investigator-initiated studies.
- Chair review committee meetings to evaluate study feasibility and alignment with evidence generation strategies.
- Develop and negotiate complex research agreements and statements of work in collaboration with medical, clinical, and legal teams.
- Provide oversight on contract compliance, milestone tracking, and the provision of drug supply where necessary.
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clear communication and issue escalation.
- Contribute to the refinement of frameworks and systems to maintain robust and compliant research management processes.
- Oversee service provider activities to ensure delivery meets established operational metrics and standards.
Requirements
- You have a Master's degree.
- You bring 3+ years of experience within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, academia, or a CRO.
- You possess 3+ years of experience managing contracts and their lifecycle from drafting through to execution.
- You have experience in project management and a solid understanding of legal and regulatory guidelines for pharmaceutical research.
- You're able to lead cross-functional teams and build trustful relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- You have proven skills in negotiation, influencing without authority, and managing conflict.
- You are fluent in English.
