Our client is a leading European competence center for biocides, based in Belgium. With more than 30 years of experience, they develop, register and market safe, practical and eco-conscious pest control solutions for household, professional, retail, veterinary, pharmaceutical and vector control markets.

The company is in full growth and has moved well beyond a trading model. They license their own formulated and registered products to brand owners, and the next step is building their own brand. To support this growth and open new retail channels, they are currently hiring an Account Manager for France and the DACH region.

Responsibilities

We are actively looking for a mature, results-driven Account Manager who takes full ownership of France, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, with initial focus on France. You will be the external face of the company in your markets, closing deals together with a strong cross-functional team behind you.

The ideal candidate is interested and has experience in value selling within a regulated market such as biocides, cosmetics, medical devices or consumer health, and enjoys building long-term relationships with customers at multiple levels.

You will report to the Sales Director and join a small sales team, alongside colleagues covering Southern Europe and the Middle East, and the Nordics, UK and Eastern Europe. The HQ is based in Belgium.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

The Account Manager needs to be a true professional who combines a close-the-deal mentality with technical affinity. You steer multi-stakeholder sales cycles that combine technical, regulatory and contractual discussions, and you “win on value” rather than on price.

Overall responsibilities

  • Actively prospect and develop new business across France and the DACH region, with a particular focus on new retail channels
  • Create, develop and grow a strong sales pipeline and manage a portfolio of key accounts, engaging multiple contacts at every level of the customer’s organization
  • Bring licensed formulations and registration access agreements to clients and turn negotiations into signed deals
  • Apply value-selling approach: ask the right questions, differentiate in an increasingly competitive market, and recognize when a deal would not be right
  • Implement price, margin and product strategies in line with the long-term strategic growth plan
  • Take responsibility and accountability for the creation and delivery of your sales and profit budget, set together with the Sales Director each year
  • Address technical and regulatory inquiries from customers, in close collaboration with the in-house regulatory department and partners’ R&D and technical teams
  • Gather market insights on new opportunities, competitor strategy and market trends, and contribute to building and assessing new business cases
  • Represent the company at trade shows and customer visits in your markets

Requirements

  • You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in relevant scientific or economic discipline
  • You have at least 5 years of commercial experience with a proven track record of closing deals and delivering results
  • You have experience in a highly regulated market such as biocides, cosmetics, medical devices or consumer health, and understand how regulatory aspects shape a deal
  • An established network in retail is a strong asset, you are strong in building relationships in this market.
  • You have technical affinity and act as a bridge between customers and the technical and regulatory team
  • You are assertive and persistent, with a mature, down-to-earth and no-nonsense attitude
  • You work autonomously and learn quickly, while staying genuinely connected to your team
  • You are fluent in English, German and French
  • You are willing to travel frequently across France, Belgium and the DACH region

Offer

  • A permanent contract of indefinite duration in a medium-sized, financially healthy company with a clear growth plan
  • A competitive, market-conform salary reflecting your experience
  • Company car, meal vouchers, group insurance and hospitalisation insurance, depending on your actual living region
  • Freedom and flexibility to organize your work within jointly set targets
  • A young, dynamic and supportive team with short communication lines and real prospects for growth
  • Holiday package depending on living region

Our client Core Values

  • Compliance and quality
  • Hands-on, can-do mentality
  • Entrepreneurial
  • Team spirit and a down-to-earth attitude
