Our client, a leading player in transport infrastructure, is looking for an experienced expert to optimize and modernize the radio network. The role focuses on ensuring network quality and actively preparing for the transition to the next generation of communication standards within the sector.
Responsibilities
- Using radio planning software such as Atoll to perform accurate coverage and interference calculations.
- Conducting network analyses using simulation models to optimize capacity and coverage in line with the required quality standards.
- Translating complex measurement data and GIS data into concrete action plans for infrastructure deployment and network optimization.
- Managing technical parameters within planning tools and performing data quality checks.
- Supporting network tuning, validation, and certification processes, including the preparation of detailed test plans.
- Anticipating the migration from GSM-R to FRMCS and evaluating new planning methodologies.
- Analyzing measurement data across various interfaces and carrying out interference analyses using specialized measurement equipment.
Requirements
- You hold a Master’s degree in Engineering Sciences (Industrial or Civil Engineering).
- You have 10+ years of relevant experience with GSM-R Radio Access Networks, BSC/BTS hardware, and monitoring tools such as NetAct or Qats.
- You bring in-depth expertise in BTS planning, tunnel coverage systems, A-bis loop planning, and network tuning.
- You have extensive experience in data analysis and the use of measurement equipment such as Aeroflex and Comtest.
- You have 5+ years of experience with environmental legislation and permitting processes within a technical environment.
- You are a strong communicator, collaborate constructively with stakeholders, and are committed to long-term engagement.
- You are fluent in Dutch or French (C1) with a good command of English (B2).
Nice to Haves
- Experience with signaling systems, particularly ETCS1 or ETCS2.
- Knowledge of operational processes and the IT context within large-scale infrastructure projects.
