Our client, a key organization in the energy sector, is seeking a Test Manager to lead quality assurance for a large-scale system modernization program. The role focuses on structuring test activities within a complex multi-vendor environment to ensure predictability and transparency across the energy market.

Responsibilities

  • Establish the overall test strategy, quality standards, and deliverables across the entire program.
  • Manage a team of domain test coordinators while overseeing capacity planning and resource allocation.
  • Define risk-based quality gates supported by automation to enable parallel delivery and end-to-end traceability.
  • Oversee the integration of test automation within CI/CD pipelines and drive the transition from manual testing.
  • Coordinate quality criteria and acceptance conditions per project gate, enforcing shift-left and built-in quality principles.
  • Consolidate test results and report on quality, progress, and risks to program leadership and stakeholders.
  • Validate release readiness through comparative testing, shadow runs, and consolidated test evidence.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience as a Test Manager within complex multi-domain programs.
  • 5+ years conducting end-to-end testing across multiple systems and application chains.
  • 3+ years defining test governance and test strategies at a program or enterprise level.
  • 3+ years leading and coordinating teams of testers and test coordinators.
  • 3+ years integrating test automation within CI/CD contexts.
  • Knowledge of ISTQB methodologies at an Advanced level or equivalent.
  • Experience aligning testing activities with release management processes.
  • Innovation-oriented mindset with knowledge of current trends in quality assurance.
  • You are fluent in English (C1) and either Dutch or French (C1), with at least B1 level in the second national language.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Proficiency in Quality Center, Postman, or Selenium.
  • Experience with comparative testing, shadow runs, or parallel run validation.
  • Knowledge of the Belgian energy market, market communication, or data clearing houses.
