Senior Data Analytics Engineer – Smart Water & Infrastructure Solutions

Our client, a leading organization in the environmental utility sector, is looking for a specialist to build scalable, high-quality data products. The project involves modernizing digital infrastructure to enhance water management through advanced data modeling and cloud-driven engineering.

• Design and deliver reusable data products that provide actionable business insights across multiple domains.
• Define and implement data product architecture, standards, and templates to ensure consistency and quality.
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate functional requirements into dimensional data models.
• Build and maintain robust data pipelines and dimensional models using star schema methodologies.
• Apply data governance and quality checks to ensure data is discoverable, reliable, and well-documented.
• Integrate AI-accelerated delivery methods for automated testing, documentation, and model generation.
• Engage in software engineering best practices including version control, testing, and CI/CD within an agile framework.

• You have 8+ years of experience with Python and PySpark for advanced data processing.
• You bring 5+ years of experience within the Azure ecosystem, specifically with Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory.
• You possess 3+ years of experience in data modeling, including dimensional modeling and Kimball star schemas.
• You're experienced with software engineering fundamentals, including version control with Git and CI/CD.
• You have a thorough knowledge of SQL and apply it daily for complex data manipulation.
• You possess experience in designing data product architecture and defining technical contracts between producers and consumers.
• You're able to work effectively within an Agile SAFe framework and manage overlapping priorities.
• You bring a proactive approach to building domain knowledge and understanding business processes.
• You are a strong communicator who can bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.
• You are native or bilingual in Dutch.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with DBT.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric.
• Experience processing data from ERP systems (SAP) or asset management platforms.
• Knowledge of English.
