Our client, a major public sector organization, is undergoing a large-scale digital transformation to modernize operational processes and infrastructure. The project focuses on leading a strategic program to migrate legacy mainframe environments to modern database platforms while ensuring high availability for critical field services.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a realistic roadmap and comprehensive project overview to guide the modernization program from inception to completion.
  • Prioritize operational tasks and resource allocation to ensure technical efforts align with strategic organizational objectives.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks related to timelines, costs, and resource constraints through proactive communication with management.
  • Coordinate cross-functional dependencies between technical teams and facilitate change management by making project goals tangible.
  • Manage project governance by facilitating decision-making sessions and providing regular strategic progress reports to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate daily with technical specialists to resolve bottlenecks and streamline the execution of complex migration tasks.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in IT Project Management and the application of Project Management methodologies.
  • 8+ years of expertise in Infrastructure Architecture and Business Analysis.
  • 8+ years of experience leading Change Management initiatives within digital transformation contexts.
  • 3+ years of experience managing Legacy System Migration and Mainframe modernization programs.
  • 3+ years of experience in People Management leading multidisciplinary teams of internal and external experts.
  • 3+ years of practical experience with Agile and Scrum frameworks.
  • 1+ years of experience working within the Public Sector.
  • You possess strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize complex technical risks for senior management.
  • You're recognized for your ability to manage multiple stakeholders with diverging interests in a pragmatic manner.
  • You are fluent in French, Dutch, and English.

Nice to Haves

  • Possession of a Prince2 certification.
  • Possession of a Scrum Product Owner certification.

Offer

  • Start date: 01/09/2026.
  • Duration: 4 months (initial phase of a multi-year program).
  • Work regime: Full-time (40 hours per week).
  • Location: Brussels.
  • Working model: Hybrid (minimum 2 days per week onsite).
  • Contract: open to both permanent employees and freelancers.
