Our client, a leading player in the insurance sector, is seeking an experienced professional to lead large-scale application development initiatives within their life insurance division. The role involves managing the end-to-end delivery of underwriting and claims management systems while ensuring alignment between technical teams and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain project governance by defining stakeholders, steering committees, and communication frameworks.
  • Challenge and manage business requirements to ensure an optimal balance between project value, cost, and timing.
  • Coordinate architecture activities and define milestones to ensure technical deliverables meet project standards.
  • Develop and track project roadmaps, budgets, and detailed work packages.
  • Monitor development progress and report regularly on scope, quality, and financial performance to senior management.
  • Identify and mitigate risks proactively through structured action plans and issue logs.
  • Stimulate collaboration between multidisciplinary teams to ensure high engagement and skill development.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in IT Project Management specifically within application development and the Insurance sector.
  • Proven track record managing large-scale projects exceeding 1000 mandays.
  • 8+ years of experience applying Prince2 and Waterfall methodologies to complex delivery cycles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • You possess strong analytical and synthetic skills with a methodical, pro-active approach to leadership.
  • You bring excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt your message to diverse audiences.
  • You are fluent in Dutch or French with at least basic knowledge of the other, and have a good command of English.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Data Warehouse (DWH) environments.
  • Familiarity with Test Management principles or Business Analysis.
