Senior Developer – Java & Azure

Our client, a leading organization in the HR and payroll services sector, is looking for an experienced developer to join their DevOps team. This role focuses on enhancing and maintaining a critical payroll engine while contributing to complex technical challenges within a cloud-native environment.

• Develop and optimize high-performance applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Manage cloud-native infrastructure within Azure, utilizing Docker and Kubernetes.
• Implement data solutions using Cosmos DB and EventHub.
• Ensure software quality through robust testing strategies and observability tools like DataDog.
• Collaborate within a DevOps framework to streamline deployment and development workflows.
• Share technical expertise and take ownership of complex architectural challenges within the team.

• You have 8+ years of experience in backend development using Java, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
• You bring 8+ years of expertise within DevOps and Cloud environments.
• You possess extensive experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes on Azure platforms.
• You have strong knowledge of data and messaging systems including Cosmos DB (Mongo API) and EventHub (Kafka).
• You're proficient in web technologies and scripting with TypeScript, JavaScript, and Shell/Bash.
• You have experience using modern development tools such as Git, GitHub, Copilot, and IntelliJ.
• You possess knowledge of observability tools like DataDog and various software testing strategies.
• You're analytically strong, take ownership of technical challenges, and are a proactive communicator.
• You are fluent in Dutch and English.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with Test Driven Development, Clean Code, and Domain Driven Design.
• Familiarity with API-development and Event Driven Architectures.
• Possession of an AZ-900 certification.
• Functional knowledge of Payroll, HR, or Enterprise IT environments.
