Our client, a prominent public sector organization, is looking for a senior leader to provide strategic support to the head of the department. The role involves managing high-impact programs centered on infrastructure and software development while driving project management excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic advisory and coaching services to the head of the department.
  • Lead and oversee complex programs related to IT infrastructure and software development.
  • Apply and optimize project management methodologies such as Prince2 or PMBok within the organization.
  • Manage program-level risks and issues using standardized techniques and tools.
  • Execute program management methodologies including MSP, Agile, and Scrum to ensure delivery.
  • Facilitate the transfer of expert knowledge regarding project management roles, processes, and terminology.
  • Ensure alignment with ITIL service management standards across all program activities.

Requirements

  • You have 15+ years of experience managing complex IT infrastructure or software development projects.
  • You bring 12+ years of expertise in strategic advisory and coaching roles.
  • You possess 10+ years of management experience within the IT sector.
  • You have 8+ years of experience leading large-scale programs.
  • You bring expert knowledge of project management frameworks such as Prince2 or PMBok.
  • You possess advanced knowledge of program management methodologies like MSP, Agile, or Scrum.
  • You have experience working within a public sector or governmental environment.
  • You're able to transfer expert knowledge and mentor team members effectively.
  • You are fluent in Dutch at a C2 level.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience working within the Flemish government.
  • Familiarity with the GROW coaching model and Belbin team roles.
  • Practical experience with ITIL processes and terminology.
  • Knowledge of specific project management tools for risk and issue tracking.
  • Master’s degree in Political or Administrative Sciences.
