Our client, a leading global organization in the life sciences sector, is seeking a technical specialist to drive automation initiatives within their distribution operations. The role focuses on leading the development, implementation, and maintenance of advanced solutions to optimize efficiency and innovation in a highly automated hub environment.

Responsibilities

  • Execute planned maintenance, upgrades, and deployment activities during scheduled intervals to ensure continuous business operations.
  • Support automation work streams for equipment projects from design phases through to operational stabilization.
  • Enhance Warehouse Control System (WCS) deployments by managing technical escalations and implementing sustainable fixes with vendors.
  • Integrate advanced technologies including AI/ML, AMR/AGV systems, machine vision, and IoT architectures.
  • Partner with technology departments to ensure WCS requirements are reflected in infrastructure, cybersecurity, and data strategy plans.
  • Maintain compliance with industry standards for cybersecurity, data privacy, and safety across all automation projects.
  • Monitor Industry 4.0 trends and best practices to incorporate new tools and methodologies into the automation strategy.

Requirements

  • You have 4+ years of experience in automation engineering, robotics, or industrial digitalization.
  • You bring a strong technical background in PLC, HMI, SCADA, OEE, and Warehouse Control Systems (WCS).
  • You possess knowledge of Computer System Validation (CSV), SDLC documentation, and IQ/OQ/PQ validation protocols.
  • You have experience with emerging technologies such as IoT sensors, edge computing, AI/ML algorithms, and vision systems.
  • You're proficient in programming languages like Python, Java, C++, or .NET and familiar with data analytics tools.
  • You bring excellent communication and collaboration skills for working effectively in cross-functional team environments.
  • You are fluent in French and English.

Nice to Haves

  • Master's degree in Engineering, IT, Automation, or a related field.
  • Experience in highly automated GMP or regulated environments with Rockwell PLCs and Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Knowledge of Dutch.
