Our client, a prominent public safety organization, is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to facilitate their digital transformation and legacy modernization. The role focuses on analyzing existing mainframe domains and translating complex data structures into a modern, future-oriented architecture using semantic modeling and ontologies.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze legacy domains, data models, and functional processes to capture core business logic and dependencies.
  • Translate existing data structures into modern functional processes, integration concepts, and ontologies.
  • Coordinate with architects, developers, and security specialists to ensure technical alignment across the project.
  • Document business rules, data definitions, and detailed process requirements for the new ICT environment.
  • Support the migration of legacy environments and analyze central logging systems for data exploitation.
  • Facilitate workshops with domain experts to capture requirements and ensure the traceability of solutions.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in Business Analysis and Functional Analysis.
  • 8+ years in Data Modelling and Semantic Modelling.
  • 8+ years in Data Mapping and Impact Analysis.
  • 8+ years documenting processes, data models, and business rules.
  • 5+ years managing the migration of applications and data to new platforms.
  • 3+ years working with Ontologies.
  • 3+ years analyzing Logging, Audit Trails, and exploitation data.
  • 1+ years analyzing Mainframe or legacy environments.
  • You are proactive and solution-oriented with strong analytical and workshop facilitation skills.
  • You have active knowledge of Dutch, French, and English.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with functional validation of migrated processes and data.
  • Proven track record in domain analysis within complex organizational structures.

Offer

  • Start date: 15/09/2026.
  • Duration: 4 months (extendable).
  • Work regime: Full-time.
  • Location: Brussels.
  • Working model: Hybrid (minimum 2 days per week onsite).
  • Contract: open to both permanent employees and freelancers.
