Senior Azure Data & AI Solution Architect

You will play a key role in the modernization of an enterprise-scale data platform supporting critical infrastructure operations. The role focuses on designing a future-proof Azure-based data and AI architecture that enables reliable analytics, governed data products, and AI-ready workloads.

You operate at the intersection of enterprise data architecture, governance, and AI enablement, working closely with engineering teams and business stakeholders in a scaled agile environment.

What You’ll Do

• Design and evolve an enterprise Azure data platform, balancing scalability, governance, and performance.
• Define and guide the delivery of data products, from ingestion and transformation to consumption layers.
• Establish and maintain enterprise data governance, including data quality, lineage, and compliance.
• Prepare the data landscape for AI and LLM use cases, including architectures such as RAG and vector-based retrieval.
• Design solutions for unstructured data processing and classification (documents, emails, text).
• Translate complex business requirements into robust, future-proof technical architectures.
• Define guidelines, best practices, and reference architectures, and ensure adoption across teams.
• Ensure security-by-design across data architectures and development practices in a regulated environment.

• You have 5+ years of experience designing enterprise data platforms, including at least 3 years on Azure.
• You have strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Platform components, including Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
• You have experience modernising data platforms toward cloud-native architectures (e.g. Databricks Lakehouse, dbt, Microsoft Fabric).
• You have a strong understanding of data governance, including data quality, lineage, and classification.
• You have hands-on experience with data cataloging and governance tools such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Informatica, or equivalent.
• You understand AI-ready data architectures, including RAG patterns, data preprocessing, and vector databases.
• You design solutions with security-by-design, aligned with regulated or NIS2-like environments.
• You have experience working in Agile / SAFe environments and collaborating across multiple teams.
• You are fluent in Dutch and have a good working knowledge of English.
• You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent through experience.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience integrating Azure data platforms with ERP, HR, asset management, or legacy enterprise systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, dbt, or advanced Databricks orchestration patterns.
• Experience supporting AI initiatives, including LLM experimentation or productionisation.
• Experience with test automation and advanced data quality monitoring.
• Familiarity with Power BI or analytics consumption layers.

Location: Aartselaar (hybrid)
