Our client, a global leader in materials science and recycling, is looking for an experienced Project Engineer Mechanical & Piping to join their engineering team. This role is responsible for managing the mechanical and piping scope of multidisciplinary investment projects within a complex brownfield industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Translate process and project requirements into detailed mechanical and piping concepts and designs.
  • Develop, review, and approve equipment specifications, P&IDs, layouts, and piping isometrics.
  • Provide technical coordination and steering for external engineering partners and contractors for the mechanical scope.
  • Perform technical evaluations of quotations and conduct alignment meetings with equipment suppliers.
  • Support project management with cost estimates, planning, and risk assessments for discipline-specific activities.
  • Supervise on-site execution and ensure compliance with technical standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
  • Support the pre-commissioning and start-up phases of new mechanical and piping installations.

Requirements

  • You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanics, or an equivalent field.
  • You bring 10+ years of relevant experience in mechanical and piping engineering within an industrial project environment.
  • You have 3+ years of experience as a Project Engineer specifically within the Mechanical & Piping discipline.
  • You possess experience coordinating external engineering partners and working with design tools such as AutoCAD or Plant 3D.
  • You're assertive and communicative with strong stakeholder management skills and a pragmatic, result-oriented mindset.
  • You are fluent in Dutch with a good command of English.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience working in brownfield industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of industrial CAPEX project methodologies and relevant mechanical standards.
  • Willingness to obtain a VCA-VOL certificate.
