Expert Functional Analyst & Software Architect – Real-Time Traffic Management Systems

Our client, a major national infrastructure operator, is seeking an Expert Functional Analyst & Software Architect to join their digital transformation program. This role focuses on modernizing real-time traffic control systems to improve operational efficiency, punctuality, and cybersecurity within an Agile environment.

• Act as the primary interface between business stakeholders and IT teams within an Agile Scrum framework.
• Translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications for critical real-time applications.
• Define architectural solutions and support the Product Owner with backlog management and user story creation.
• Provide expert guidance to developers to ensure alignment with functional requirements and architectural standards.
• Design robust functional architectures for distributed systems and microservices.
• Conduct complex incident analysis and oversee the execution of functional acceptance testing.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to support system availability one week out of every eight.

• You possess 15+ years of experience in functional analysis within software development environments.
• You bring 10+ years of expertise in backend systems using Java, SQL, and relational databases.
• You have 10+ years of experience designing functional architecture for microservices and distributed systems.
• You possess 10+ years of experience in Agile Scrum methodologies, including user story writing and backlog prioritization.
• You have 10+ years of experience with containerization platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
• You bring 10+ years of experience using JIRA and Confluence for project tracking and documentation.
• You have 10+ years of experience performing incident analysis and functional acceptance testing.
• You bring 5+ years of experience with story mapping, Xray, Tibco RDV, distributed data processing, and Hazelcast.
• You're proactive and possess strong coaching skills for mentoring junior colleagues in a collaborative team environment.
• You are fluent in Dutch or French at C2 level, with C1 proficiency in English and the other national language (French or Dutch).
