Expert PowerBI – BI Center of Excellence Lead

Our client, a leading organization in the transport and infrastructure sector, is seeking an expert to lead their Power BI Center of Excellence. This role involves setting best practices, driving reporting strategies, and acting as the central point of contact for a large community of developers.

• Establish and maintain best practices, guidelines, and guardrails for the reporting platform.
• Lead and manage the BI Center of Excellence while serving as the primary point of contact for the developer community.
• Translate complex business requirements into future-proof solution architectures and technical roadmaps.
• Drive the migration of the current reporting environment to a modern cloud-based architecture.
• Design, develop, and validate high-quality reports and dashboards to provide actionable business insights.
• Deliver comprehensive training programs and technical support to both professional and citizen developers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to foster a data-driven decision-making culture.

• You have 10+ years of experience in BI and reporting roles, specifically leading developer communities or a Center of Excellence.
• You bring deep expertise in BI and reporting tools including Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and Microsoft AAS.
• You possess extensive experience with Azure Cloud and Data Solutions and services.
• You have proven experience with Microsoft Fabric features such as RayFin and Copilot.
• You're experienced with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban and tools like JIRA and Confluence.
• You have a strong background in executing migration plans and documenting technical architectures and roadmaps.
• You possess advanced skills in analysis techniques including process analysis, use cases, and data modeling.
• You have a degree in Informatics, Economics, or a related field.
• You are proactive, solution-oriented, and an inspirational speaker capable of engaging technical communities.
• You are fluent in English (C1) and either Dutch or French (C1) with at least B2 level in the second national language (Dutch/French).

Nice to Haves

• Experience with Data Quality reporting and data cleaning methodologies.
• Aantoonbare ownership of end-to-end solution delivery in complex environments.
• Practical experience in establishing governance for citizen development.

• Start date: 01/10/2026.
• Duration: project until 31/12/2027.
• Work regime: Full-time.
• Location: Brussels.
• Working model: Hybrid (minimum 2 days per week on-site).
• Contract: open to both permanent employees and freelancers.
